International Summer Schools

Course Description

The International Summer Schools programme is multi-disciplinary in nature and interdisciplinary in approachand designed to satisfy a broad range of interests. A primary goal is to acquaint attendees with some of the important and wondrous monuments and areas of the United Kingdom, and to present programme content in a multicultural, global framework. The programme will facilitate cross-cultural understanding, encourage deeper interest and investigation, and provide attendees with a great deal of fun!
The program is based across different locations including London, Canterbury and Dublin.

Students may earn college credit for papers and/or projects submitted to Warnborough College within six weeks after the conclusion of the program. These projects must be related to an area addressed during the program, and all topics must be pre-approved by the College. Students should plan on keeping a travel journal, and will need to complete in-depth research following the programme. On-site activities and events referred to in this proposal have been developed and coordinated by the programme leader and museum education department specialists.

Daily programs will generally begin with a brief introduction to the days activities. A visual presentation followed by a discussion session will orient participants to the topic(s) of the day. Excursions and workshops will follow, and continue into the afternoons; optional activities (e.g. film screenings and open art studio workshop sessions) will be held in the evenings.

Please note: Attendees will be given a complete list of books and works of art to be addressed in the program, all of which are available for viewing online, purchase, rental, or through libraries. Participants are encouraged (but not required) to review these materials in advance of the program.

Warnborough graduates and students will receive a 10% discount. Warnborough students may also take the program for credit for an additional fee. Students taking the program for credit will be required to complete assignments for submission after the program has ended.
